No fewer than 2,193 corps members of 2017 Batch ‘A’, Stream one, deployed to Ebonyi state have been sworn into for their compulsory one year service to the country.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Permanent Orientation Camp in Old Macgregor College, Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi, described the scheme as a vehicle for mobilizing the educated Nigerian youths towards national orientation and rebirth.
He also assured of his administration’s commitment to giving priority to the welfare of youths, especially corps members through the provision of an enabling environment needed for their potentials to be harnessed.
Reports say Enugu state has more registered female Corps members for the 2017 Batch ‘A’ Stream One exercise.
