The late rapper is up for a new honor.

Big Pun is still a player in the minds of Brooklyn residents.

Community members are pushing for Pun to get his own street in the Bronx. In fact, fans have created a petition for a street on East 163rd Street and Rogers Place to be changed in honor of the late rapper.

The decision could reportedly go before city representatives shortly and city councilman Rafael Salamanca has said that, if there is enough residential support the proposal, he’ll put the idea to a vote.

the move to name a street after his father would be significant.

"I think for the people of the Bronx that grew up listening to him, that was inspired by his words and the millions of people that heard his music," said Big Pun’s son, Chris Rivers "[...] I think it would be amazing to see something more concrete." Big Pun died in 2000 from a heart attack.
