Nigerian champions Enugu Rangers were beaten 4-0 by Abia
Warriors in Sunday's NPFL clash
at the Umuahia Stadium.
The win ensured that Abia Warriors completed a first-ever Nigeria
Professional Football League, NPFL, double over Rangers.
Sunday Adetunji opened the scoring for Abia Warriors on six
minutes from goalkeeper Agbor Ekoi's assist and nine minutes later Anthony
Okemmiri finished off Uche Ihuarulam's pass to make it two-nil against the
champions.
Adetunji netted his second of the afternoon to extend Abia
Warriors' lead, while Obi Samson added
gloss to the score line when he turned in the ball past Rangers goalkeeper
Seidu Mutawakilu.
The champions, with 26 points from 21 matches now, only have a
superior goal difference to thank for their position above the drop zone.
