Federal Government says Amina Mohammed is still the Minister of Environment

     The Presidency has said that  Amina Mohammed is still Nigeria’s Minister of Environment despite a reported appointment by the United Nations , UN.

   According to reports, Mohammed is said to have been appointed as the Deputy Secretary-General of the UN.
Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has said that she will occupy the cabinet post till further notice.
     She is expectedly to serve as deputy to Antonio Guterres, who will assume the office of UN Secretary General on January 1, 2017.
It would be recalled that she had served as an adviser to the outgoing UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon before being appointed Minister of Environment in November 2015.
