Osinachukwu
Ideozu, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, has been declared winner of
the rerun election in Rivers west senatorial district.
Ideozu polled 107,166 votes to
defeat Otelemaba Amachree, his All Progressives Congress counterpart, who had 48,898
votes.
The declaration of Ideozu brings the
Rivers senatorial election to conclusion after two failed attempts in July and
October.
Earlier, Magnus Abe of the All
Progressives Congress, and George Sekibo of the People’s Democratic Party, had been declared winners in Rivers
south east and Rivers east senatorial districts.
