Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state yesterday urged
Speakers of the Houses of Assembly in South West states to work towards
ensuring effective and people-focused legislation.
He made the call while declaring open the South West
Speakers conference in Ibadan.
The conference had the theme: ‘Effective Legislative
Governance and Service Delivery Reforms in the South-West Region.’
Ajimobi, who was represented by Ismael Alli, the
Secretary to the State Government, also urged stakeholders and career civil
servants in the House of Assembly to remove bottlenecks impeding effective
legislative works.
