The Zamfara State
Government says to actualize the State’s proposed 2017 fiscal year budget of
over One Hundred and Seven Billion Naira, it will give priority to drives
geared at boosting the internally generated revenue of the State.
The Secretary to
the State Government, Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi, stated this in Gusau, the
State’s capital while speaking to newsmen after defending the 2017 proposed
budget of his office at the State House of Assembly.
He noted that it
is imperative for the State Government to explore other sources of revenues
apart from her monthly Federal Government allocation, to enable it carry out
various developmental projects captured in the budget.
The SSG who
appealed to the people to continue to give the needed support to the programmes
and policies of the State Government, enumerated some areas captured in the
2017 budget to include construction and renovation of government offices,
procurement of utility vehicles and implementation of workers annual increments
and promotions among others.
