Corporate Affairs Commission reduces business registration to 60 days

Time-frame in registering businesses in Nigeria is being made easier, as Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, has reduced the required number of forms from seven to one.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Commission’s Registrar General, GarbaAbubakar, the newly introduced one form contains all the information needed to register a business and is available for download on the CAC website; reducing cost and time.
The CAC would ensure that business owners are able to upload documents electronically as part of its deliverables in the 60-day National Action Plan on Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Federal Inland Revenue Servicehas said Tax Identification Numbers could now be obtained when registering business organisations at the CAC without having to visit its offices.
