Following consultations with stakeholders in the Niger Delta region, Acting President Yemi Osinbajosays a plan to establish a gas industrial park valued at about $20billion in the region has begun.
Tagged the Gas Revolution Industrial Park, Ogidigben, about 60km from Warri,the project is envisaged to be a regional hub for all gas-based industries, as it would cover 2700 hectares of land with fertilizer, methanol, petrochemicals, &aluminum plants in the Tax Free Zone.
Speaking while meeting with international developers and investors of the project at the presidential Villa, in Abuja, Osinbajo stated that the current administration is committed to the development of the Niger Delta and the project.
Under the plan presented by the consortium made up of 500 companies to the Acting President, about $20 billion would be invested to develop the Gas Revolution Industrial Park, and generating 250,000 direct and indirect jobs in the process.
