The Swede scored a dramatic late goal to beat Southampton on Sunday
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has admitted he does not know if he will be at Manchester United next season.
The striker, whose 87th-minute goal sealed United a dramatic 3-2 EFL Cup final win over Southampton on Sunday, is out of contract at the end of this season.
There is an option for the 35-year-old to extend his deal for another season, but Ibrahimovic has yet to decide if he will be playing at Old Trafford next season.
The Swede, who took his goal tally for the season to 26 with his Wembley double, said: “Let’s see what happens. I mean the moment, how I feel, the situation.
“We have another two months of the season to go because, according to many, I couldn't do what I've been doing.
“I came here and the club wasn't in the Champions League. So it had nothing to do with the Champions League.
“In my head I’m never satisfied - I always want more, I’m hungry to do more. That's my mentality. I’m not satisfied with what I’m doing – I always want more.
“This is my 32nd trophy. I’ve been in five different countries, I’ve been in the best clubs in the world and I’m repeating, every year, what I'm doing. This is another chapter in my career.
“I'll stop on top. If I don’t perform, if I don’t bring results, I will not play.
"I won't be like other players, playing because they make a great career and name and they're still playing because they're who they are. I'll play as long as I can bring results.”
Ibrahimovic said he felt vindicated in his decision to come to England so late in his career.
But he admitted he could have been playing elsewhere had Mourinho not called and his children not pestered him to join United.
“I'm still doing what I've been doing every year, but some people won't accept it or admit it, because I don't do it in their home ground,” said Ibarhimovic.
“But I've come to their home ground and now I'm doing exactly the same thing I've been doing all the years.
“I wasn't worried about age, because I know what I'm able to do. It's because I'm here in England.
“After all these years 'he didn't come and show himself here', but I came.
“And I came when people thought it was impossible for me to do what I am able to do. It feels good. I'm enjoying it.
“I think in your career you have moments. I didn't come to England before because it wasn't the moment.
“I came when I thought it was the moment and the moment was there.
“If we speak about the coach [Mourinho] England, the Premier League, the club has to thank him, because he called me and asked me to come here, otherwise I wouldn't have been here.
“Even my two kids wanted to see me play at United. But I had my mind somewhere else, before everything was coming on top of the table.
“Then Jose called. I have a special relationship with him. When he called it was basically - 'tell me what number I should wear'.
“My mind wasn't here. Then my kids started to bump my head and Jose called, then I'm here.
“They [the kids] are satisfied with what I'm doing. But this time I'm the boss, not them.”
Ibrahimovic's agent Mino Raiola confirmed his client has ye to make up his mind.
“I never speak about contract details with the press – I think that’s something between the player, the club and myself," he told talksSPORT .
“I think we should keep it that way and just enjoy the moment and we’ll see what happens next year.”
The EFL Cup was the 32nd honour of Ibrahimovic's glittering 17-year career and the forward claimed, with typical immodesty, that he has a house for all of his winner's medals.
“It's in the museum,” said Ibrahimovic. “I have a house only for the medals!”
