Bayelsa chapter of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria says to engage 485 youths in the state




   As land clearing and preparations for its 2017 planting season is on, the Bayelsa chapter of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria says it will engage 485 youths in the state.
   Ezekiel Ogbianko, the state Chairman of the association, told newsmen in Yenagoa today that the youths would be selected from the communities where the farms were located.
   Clearing of five thousand hectares of farmlands have already started across the state and plans are underway to employ over 485 youths to work with us in these farms located in different parts of the state.
   On the difficult terrain in the state, the chairman said it was not a hindrance to rice cultivation, nevertheless, with modern farming tools, the challenge would be surmounted.
