Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has appealed to communities engaged in dispute over land to seek peaceful resolution of conflict.
Governor Okowa made the call at a town hall meeting where he also assured the people of prudent management of public funds by his administration.
He said contracts for the execution of projects would be awarded based on the availability of funds, reiterating his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that would stand the test of time.
He noted that his administration was able to execute many projects across the state due to proper planning of payments to contractors, assuring the people that his administration would continue to ensure prudent management of funds.
On the issue of herdsmen, Governor Okowa re-echoed his call on the Federal Government to formulate a policy to address the issue.
He urged the people of Delta State to be cautious, saying efforts are ongoing by his administration in conjunction with security agencies to tackle the issue.
