Governor Ifeayin Okowa to Inaugurate Ogba-Led Local Organising Committee

    Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will today inaugurate the 17-man Local Organising Committee, for the 2018 Senior Africa Athletics Championships tagged Asaba 2018.

   The championship which is yet to get definite date is expected to hold within June and August.
   Keen to see the Local Organising Committee hit the ground running, the Governor has charged the members of the committee to organise a good tournament that will leave a lasting mark in the State and Nigeria.
   A statement signed by the Olukayode Thomas, a member of the Local Organising Committee for the 2018 Africa Athletics Championship, stated that the Delta State Governor is ready to set the ball rolling with today’s inauguration of the 17-man committee, which is headed by Former President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria, Solomon Ogba, has Tony Okowa, Chairman, Delta State Sports Commission as Vice Chairman.
