The
Zamfara State Government has awarded contracts worth over Five Hundred and
Ninety Million Naira for the renovation and reconstruction of two units of Day
Secondary Schools in the state.
The
schools are Government Day Secondary School, Danbaza and Government Girls Day
Secondary School Bungudu in Maradun.
The
State’s Acting Governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, who issued the contract notification
letters to Twenty Four indigenous contractors, said the contracts comprised
total renovation, construction of new structures of classrooms, staff quarters
and supply of furniture, teaching and learning materials.
Giving
the breakdown of the contract sum, the Acting Governor, said Government
Girls Day Secondary School Bungudu would gulp about Four Hundred and Fourteen Million
Naira while the project for Government Day Secondary School Dambaza will cost
over One Hundred and Seventy Seven Million Naira.
Wakkala
said the state government has resolved to give the contract to indigenous
contractors in order to motivate and boost the economy of the state.
