The
West African Examination Council, WAEC, says it is not in charge of marking
results after examinations.
WAEC
said this while dismissing insinuations that it deliberately failed candidates
in either the school or private candidates’ examinations, so that they can
reapply to enable the council make more money.
Addressing
newsmen Head of National Office, WAEC Nigeria, Olu Adenipekun, said that it was
never the fault of the Council when candidates could not do well in its
examinations.
Noting
that it was a wrong assumption that the council deliberately fails candidates,
he added that the scores candidates obtained is a reflection of their
performance.
