Delta state government trains 50 disabled individuals

    No fewer than 50 persons with disabilities were, yesterday, given entrepreneurial training at the Songhai Delta Farms, Amukpe, Sapele, Delta State, under the three to six months Skill Training and Entrepreneurship Programme, STEP and the Youth Agricultural Entrepreneurship Programme, YAGEP, of the state government.

      They are scheduled to resume January 9, 2017, after the yuletide break, to continue the remaining part of the training programme.
    According  to the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Social and Community Development, Omotsola Williams, who flagged off the training programme, two trainees have been selected from each of the 25 councils in the state, with more disabled to be drafted into the programme in due course.

State Chief Job Creation Officer, Prof. Eric Eboh, who harped on the success of the prosperity and wealth creation agenda of the state government, said that the participants will be getting 10,000 naira monthly stipend and other allowances, for the three months of their training.
