President Muhammadu Buhari says is administration is making frantic effort to revamp the nation’s economy, urging Nigerians to be prudent in the management of their resources to survive the critical period.
The president made this known at the Naval Dockyard in Lagos while commissioning three Nigerian Naval Ships christened, NNS Karaduwa, NNS Unity and TUGBoat Commander Edwin Ugwu indigenously manufactured in the country.
The president who lauded involvement and contribution of the Navy in the on-going fight against insurgency in the North East, added that the Navy is also envisaged to play a critical role in the upcoming continental programmes such as the development of sustainable blue economy for Africa adopted and signed by the African Union in October 2016.
Earlier, the Chief Of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas said the Navy is mindful of the expectation of Nigerians, assuring that they will leave above board in the discharged of their duties.
