A
travel ban on women under the age of 60 has been imposed in eastern Libya by
its military chief of staff, Abdul Al-Naduri.
The
directive bans women from boarding international flights from the eastern
Labraq airport without a male guardian.
Officials
say the move is for security reasons and deny that it is driven by religious
ideology.
This
latest travel restriction only affects Libyan women travelling from the east of
the country.
