EDO- councils in the state have been mandated to exploit fresh strategies to boost Internally Generated Revenue

   Heads of service, in the Local Government Areas of Edo State owed months of unpaid salary arrears said councils in the state have been mandated to exploit fresh strategies to boost Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, to avoid the pitfall of unpaid salaries.

   The new directive by the state government was disclosed by the Head of Service, Ehor Local Government Area and a former Chairman of Edo State Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Kaduna Eboigbodin, also expressed confidence that with the plan of the State Assembly in harmonising revenue, Councils in the State LG can adequately meet up to their responsibility.
   Eboigbodin, while noting that the Councils despite the scarcity of funds have embarked on some development in the area of road rehabilitation and health adding that the Council under his watch had enjoyed relative peace and security.
