Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state laments neglect of Edolites



  

     Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, says the state has been neglected and deprived of developmental projects courtesy of corruption in the country.

    Speaking during a town hall meeting of oil producing communities with Acting president Yemi Osinbajo during his fact-finding visit to the state, the Governor welcomed the bold and progressive move of the acting president by embarking on his peace tour to Niger Delta communities and requested him to visit the state again to enable him visit the oil communities for better understanding of the people’s anguish.
    He also revealed moves being made by his administration to curb deprivation and militancy in the state.

    Earlier, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, appreciated Edo people for turning out en masse for the meeting even as he highlighted the major issues raised by stakeholders during their speech at the town hall meeting.

    Acting president who has previously visited Bayelsa, Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Imo states during his peace tour, is expected in Lagos today, March 7 to perform the ground breaking for the construction of the $1.5 billion standard gauge rail line from Lagos to Ibadan.
