The Commissioner for Basic and
Secondary Education, Barr Chiedu Ebie say’s the Ministry would continue to
collaborate with various stakeholders in the Education sector in order to
improve and sustain the standard of Education in the state.
The Commissioner made this known
during the briefing session held for monitors for the 2017 Senior School
Certificate Examinations at St Patrick’s College hall Asaba.
Barr Ebie said the briefing was
aimed at reviewing and evaluating past experiences in various Exams that have
been conducted in the past and to map out strategies to unravel and combat new
techniques devised by perpetrators of examination malpractice in schools in
Delta State and also to equip the examination monitors with the necessary
skills needed to further curb the incidence of malpractice in the forth coming
SSCE examinations.
He maintained that it would no
longer be business as usual as the ministry will not hesitate to deal with
anyone involved in sabotaging the governments efforts in the fight against
examination malpractice in schools.
Earlier, the director of exams and standards
in the ministry Dr prince Akporugo urged the Examination Monitors to be
vigilant and upright in their duties as Monitors and not to be intimidated by
anyone when carrying out their duties.
