Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP, Brigadier-General Paul Boroh (retd), has called for partnership between ministries and agencies to create access to sustainable peace and development in the Niger Delta region.
He said that such development will also help fast-track the reintegration of reformed former agitators into civil life.
Boroh made the call during a courtesy visit to the office of the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani Uhuru Usani.
He explained that part of the mandate of the Presidential Amnesty Office includes ensuring peace in the Niger Delta region in order to allow critical partners such as the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Works and international development partners carry out their development activities.
In his response, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Usani, said that the visit was apt considering the Vice President’s recent tour of the Niger Delta region and the increasing expectations from the people.
