The Abia Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, says the different
strategies implemented by the command in fighting crime and criminality is
gradually paying off.
He disclosed this at the Officer’s
Mess in Umuofia shortly after decorating 20 officers who were promoted from
assistant superintendent to deputy superintendent of police.
According to him, the measures put
in place to ensure that the team cover all the flash point in the state with
the implementation of operation stop and search has led to the arrest of some
suspects involved in armed robbery, kidnapping amongst others.
He, however, hinted that the command
would not rest on its oars until the criminals are totally flush out.
