Governor Ifeayin Okowa flags off eye screening in Delta state

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is urging Nigerians to go for regular health check to enable early diagnosis and treatment of health issues.

Making this call while flagging off of a free eye screening, tests, glasses and surgical Operation Exercise at Ozoro in Isoko North local government area of the state, he said with adequate partnership from stakeholders, health status of Deltans can be improved on.

The ceremony is the second phase of its kind sponsored by Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor, Chairman, Isoko North local government council.

The Governor also called on other local government councils in the state to emulate what is done in Isoko, adding that with partnership, more can be done.

Earlier in an address, Hon. Egbabor explained that the second phase of the exercise is coming on the heels of the successes recorded in the first phase in August 2015, which saw a 17-year old blind girl regaining her sight after undergoing free eye surgery at the centre.
