illegal Structures Owners Get Marching Order in Delta State

Chairman of the Delta State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation, Comrade Kingsley Iweka, has ordered the owners of illegal structures built on water ways, canals and drainages in the state, particularly in Asaba, to vacate such areas as soon as possible.

Iweka gave the marching order when he and a team of the newly inaugurated Kick Against Indiscipline, KAI, Movement
inspected Usonia street in Asaba.

According to reports, during the inspection, the taskforce issued abatement notices to some erring owners of shanties and stalls built on water ways, warning them to vacate such areas within seven days or face the wrath of the State Environmental Laws.

According to the taskforce chairman, the state Ministry of Environment will no longer condone the actions of individuals
and groups that detract from the environmental initiatives
of the current administration.
