Council urges youths to disregard plan to divide Nigeria
The National Youth Council of Nigeria has called on youths to disregard any act designed to promote disunity and division of the country.
The council gave the advice in a statement jointly signed by Adedotun Omoleye and Obinna Nwaka, Director and Deputy Directors in charge of political and democratic matters of the council.
The council said that it was not in support of the recent proclamation of a quit notice to Igbos in the Northern part of the country by a coalition of some Northern youths.
The council said it was interested in the well being, safety and interest of every Nigeria youth hence it was against the notice.
It said its primary role was to bring Nigerian youths together to help promote peace and unity in the country.
