Edo State Government charges waste managers to Perform or risk disbandment
Edo State Government has charged the state Waste Management Board to ensure that the state is kept clean at all times or risk disbandment.
Speaking at a training workshop for Waste Managers in Benin City, the Chairman, Strategic Planning Unit, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, said that Governor Godwin Obaseki understood the issue of waste management, saying that he is very passionate about it and ready to provide resources and materials to ensure that Edo State is kept clean.
According to him, the Environment has a direct link with tourism, health and investment , which in turn have multiplier effects on the populace and therefore, should be handled with utmost efficiency.
On her part, the Head of Edo State Civil Service, Gladys Idahor, said environmental sustainability was very dear to the governor and enjoined officials of the Waste Management Board to ensure they add value to the system or step aside.
