Eko Electricity Distribution Company, EKEDC, has apologized for the blackout being experienced in Lagos areas, such as Lekki, Ajah, Victoria Island and Ikoyi.
The Company blamed the blackout on the rain, which has continued to batter the city of 30 million people, resulting into an unprecedented flood on the roads and homes.
According to a short statement sent to its customers earlier today, EKEDC said some of its own offices too have been flooded.
According to reports, Many areas have not had electricity for five days since the rains began falling almost ceaselessly in the city since last week.
The Lagos State Police Command yesterday declared Ahmadu Bello Way a forbidden zone because of the flooding of the area.
