Enugu State Governor appoints 3 commissioner nominees


   

    Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi,  yesterday forwarded names of three commissioners designate that would swell the number of the exco members in his cabinet to the state House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.


   The three commissioners designate are Messrs Joseph Udeji, Robert Ogbuagu and  Donatus Ani. There have been speculations of a total cabinet reshuffle and this could be the outcome of such speculations that had been making the rounds in the state.

   Reacting to the governor’s letter authored by the Secretary to the State Government, Elder Gabriel Ajah, leader of the House, Okechukwu Ezeugwu told his colleagues that consideration and confirmation of the nominees should be put on hold till Thursday. Speaker of the House, Edward Ubosi directed the Clerk of the House to inform the nominees to submit 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to enable the House assess them before confirmation.

    In another development, a report on the bill to amend the Education Law Cap 37, Laws of Enugu State 2004 and to provide for Matters Connected Therewith, House Bill No. 6, 2017, was presented on the floor of the House by the Chairman of House  Joint Committee on Education, Science and Technology, Gender Affairs and Social Development, Judiciary, Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges, Matthew Ugwueze. The committee also presented a report on their oversight visit to the Enugu State College of Education Technical (ESCET) aimed at finding out the problems besetting the institution.
