Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment
to addressing issues directly affecting Deltans.
The Speaker, who gave the assurance
while playing host to a delegation of high chiefs of Uvwie Traditional Council
of Chiefs at the instance of the Ovie of Uvwie, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe I,
commended royal families in the state for their roles in maintaining
traditional values and peace in the state.
He commended the council of chiefs
and promised to reciprocate the visit to the palace, adding that the blessings
and advice of the Ovie is accepted and would be duly implemented.
Earlier, a former Commissioner for
Justice, Victor Otumewho, said that the visit was to formally felicitate with Rt. Hon. Sheriff
Oborevwori and to thank God for elevating him to the position of Speaker of the
state House of Assembly.
