In a bid to respond to the recently
confirmed outbreak of Lassa fever in seven states, Delta State government has
commenced fumigation of markets and hospitals, among other public places in the
state.
Confirming this, John Nani, the
State Commissioner for Environment, saidprecautionary measures remain the best
approach to adopt at present in the face of potential threat of the disease.
It would be recalled that the state
government had last week issued a statement, advising all residents to adopt
best hygiene practices.
