Edo State Universal Basic Education Board has commenced the monitoring of schools across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The team led by the interim Chairman of the Board, Sulayman Ali, visited primary schools in Benin City including Imaguero Igbesanwa and Ogboeprimary schools and admonished the teachers to put in more efforts in schooling the pupils, warning that the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki will not tolerate insolence in the school system.
According to Ali, during the monitoring tour, any teacher found wanting in the discharge of he or her duties will be sacked, so as to create chance for more dedicated teachers.
He also further charged the teachers to collaborate with School Based Management Committees to check the incident of vandalism in public schools.
