An Integrated Soil Management Centre in Ogoniland has been launched as part of processes for the implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme report on the area.
Performing the launch at Bori, in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Minister of Environment, Amina Mohammed, noted that the Ogoni clean-up would involve investing money in the development of the area.
Stressing that President MuhammaduBuhari was interested in the development of the Niger Delta region, Mohammed disclosed that the Federal Government will commence the clean- up with the training of 1,200 women from Ogoni.
She also advised traditional rulers, youths and civil society organisationsin the area to support the project by making sure that it was a success.
