Ekiti State government is lamenting the non-release of the monthly Budget Support Funds to the state by the federal government.
The development, according to the government, is responsible for its inability to pay the civil servants their September, 2016 salaries.
Governor Ayodele Fayose who spoke at an interactive session with the leadership of Ekiti State workforce and organised labour on the status of the state’s finances, said the state had been receiving the support funds from federal government to argument the statutory allocation since June last year.
He also disclosed that Ekiti state is the only state yet to be credited with the fund among the 36 states of the federation aside Lagos state that applied for the fund.
