Federal Road Safety Commission’s
mobile court, in Port Harcourt, has sanctioned about 15 commercial buses for
failing to comply with the deadline to install speed limit devices in their
vehicles.
Sector Commander of the commission, in Rivers State, Ayodele Kumapayi, told newsmen that yesterday was the day set aside by the national headquarters of the commission to ascertain compliance by commercial vehicles with the deadline for installation of the speed limit device.
He said the sector in the state would continue
to monitor commercial vehicles to ensure compliance, stressing that the speed
limit device was to save lives of travellers in commercial vehicles on the
highways.
