Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, disciplinary committee has come down hard on Enugu Rangers for the Nigeria Professional Football League champions' conduct during a league match against Abia Warriors.
Rangers lost their season opener in January 2-1 at home to Abia Warriors, but some of the home fans did not take kindly to the shock result.
The committee, sitting in Abuja handed down fines totalling N4 million to Rangers for various offences, ranging from failure to ensure restriction of access by unauthorized persons from all restricted areas in the course of the match, to encroachment and throwing of objects towards the field of play at the end of the match by its Fans and Supporters, among others.
As part of the fines, Rangers International is to pay a compensation of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only each to the injured Match Commissioner and Injured Mobile Police Officer.
