The Federal Executive Council, FEC, has
approved a $150 million soft loan from African Development Bank, AfDB, and $100
million from African Development Finance , ADF, to finance some basic services.
Aside financing Rural Water
Supply and Sanitation Initiative, FEC
has also approved a grant of five million euros to finance Inclusive Basic
Service Delivery and Livelihood Empowerment Integrated Programme in five states
of the North East .
In a statement by the Director of
Information in the Ministry of Finance Salisu Na’ina, yesterday in Abuja
said that the approval followed a memo presented to the Council by the Minister
of Finance, Kemi Adeosun.
she explained that the money would
facilitate improving the quality of life of 14 million people and over 2.3
million Internally Displaced Persons affected by the Boko Haram insurgency.
