Governor Ifeanyi Okowa Calls For Intelligence Gathering in Tackling Herdsmen Menace




  Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, is proposing adoption of intelligence gathering as one of the best ways to tackle Fulani herdsmen menace in the country.


   Speaking when he led top government functionaries on an assessment visit to Ossissa community in Ndokwa East local government area, which was recently attacked by Fulani herdsmen, decried the effects of Fulani herdsmen menace on Deltans, even as he called on communities to be proactive in dislodging armed herdsmen.

  He also assured that any herdsmen caught with dangerous weapon or perceived to be a threat to Deltans would face the laws of the land.

   While assuring Deltans that the Federal Government was working on policies to check activities of herdsmen, noting that they should be patient, he revealed that a detachment of Police officers would be sent to the Ossissa community to check the menace of the herdsmen.
