Bayelsa State Governor direct newly formed State Volunteer Service to recruit additional 3,000 youths




  

    Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has directed the newly formed State Volunteer Service to recruit additional 3,000 youths to work closely with security agencies, in curbing checking all forms of robberies, cultism, pipeline vandalism, sea piracy and kidnapping.

   Inaugurating the Local Government Vigilante Coordinators in Government House, Yenagoa, the Governor charged them to provide community-based intelligence on criminal activities across the state.
   Stating that his government will not condone acts capable of breaching peace, he announced that the addition of patrol vehicles and other logistics to enhance the operations of the various security agencies in the state.
   Responding, Chairman of the Coordinators, Parkins Ogede, assured the state government that they would carry out their task with diligence.
