Federal Government spends N3.7bn on School Feeding Programme in 9 states





     A total of over N3million has so far been released for the feeding of 1.2 million school children in nine states under the Home Grown School Feeding Programme of the Federal Government.

   The Federal Government said, yesterday, that nine states had been covered in the programme.
   Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande, said the benefiting states, comprising Anambra, Enugu, Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ebonyi, Zamfara, Delta and Abia, at the last count, have received various sums in tranches, while 14,574 cooks have been engaged in the communities where the schools are located.
   Laolu later gave details of overall payments to each of the nine states and the breakdown figures of how many children are being fed so far.
