NPFL: Plateau extend lead, Sunshine win away






     Plateau United continued to stay in top spot in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, after seeing off FC Ifeanyiubah 1-0 at the Rwang Pam Stadium in Jos yesterday.

   The win helped Plateau United open a five-point lead at the top. Lobi Stars were four minutes away from a famous away win at Enyimba after Anthony Okpotu scored on 18 minutes.
   Enyimba conjured a comeback in four minutes to win 2-1, with Mfon Udoh and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu scoring the goals.
   Last season's runners-up Rivers United found themselves pegged back at their Yakubu Gowon Stadium as Sunshine Stars claimed a 1-0 win.
   Wikki Tourists and Katsina United defeated ABS FC and Kano Pillars respectively by similar scorelines of 1-0.
   Harrison Madu and Martins Usule scored for Wikki and Katsina United respectively.
