An estimated N6 billion has been spent so
far on 200,000 beneficiaries of the federal government’s N-Power scheme, while an
additional N18 billion is billed to be spent on 300,000 beneficiaries due to
register in May.
Senior Special Adviser to the Presidency
on Job Creation, Afolabi Imoukhuede, revealed this in an interactive workshop
with N-Power monitoring team and representative beneficiaries across Ogun
state.
Imoukhuede, who expressed
satisfaction over the beneficiaries’ performance, commended the state
government, commissioners as well as monitoring team for their relentless
effort in providing job opportunities for residents.
He however warned intending
beneficiaries to be careful of fraudulent acts by friends, families or Internet
users.
Meanwhile, a monitoring report would
soon be introduced to ascertain the amount of money apportioned to each people
in relation to the work they perform.
