Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has assured Nigerians that sport facilities in the state would be made available for training ahead of the 2018 Gold Coast Games in Australia.
Ambode, who gave the assurance at the Government House, Alausa today when he received the Queen’s Baton Relay, said that some of the sports facilities were been reactivated, as he expressed delight to receive the Baton, which is going across 70 countries.
He also appealed to different agencies and authorities in the country to provide facilities and equipment for all athletes.
Responding, the president, Nigeria Olympic Committee, Habu Gumel, appreciated the governor for finding time to receive the Queen’s Baton Relay and charged athletes to take advantage of the facilities that abound in Lagos State and other places to prepare for the Games.
