Governor Sierake Dickson of Bayelsa state signs 2017 appropriation bill into law

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has signed the 2017 appropriation bill of N243.2b and the Educational Development Trust Fund Amendment bill into law.

According to a Government House statement, the Governor noted that the budget tagged Budget of Repositioning For Consolidation is designed to complete various on-going projects in the state.
Speaking while assenting to the bills, Governor Dickson said the government appropriated N111billion for capital projects and called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ensure strict implementation of the budget.
He also asked the ministries to fast-track the process of awarding contracts, as his administration is committed to completing most of the projects and programmes this year.
Meanwhile, recurrent expenditures such as salaries, pensions, gratuities and overhead would gulp the remaining balance of the budget.
