Delta state government decries vandalism of schools, seeks communities’ help

Worried by vandalism of public schools in Delta state, the state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Chiedu Ebie, is calling for the assistance of communities in the protection and security of educational infrastructure across the state.

Identifying vandalism and theft of public school facilities by miscreants as a big challenge confronting basic and secondary education in the state, Ebie said government alone cannot bring the menace to an end, as he implored communities to assist in proper policing of public schools in their domains.
The situation is said to have led to dilapidated structures, broken windows, ceilings, furniture, as well as loss of vital school documents.
