A
Bill proposing six months imprisonment for persons who distort queues in public
places have scaled second reading at the House of Representatives.
Sponsor
of the bill, Hon. Abubakar Amuda-Kannike, says it sought to ensure that
Nigerians conducted themselves orderly in public places, even as it provides a
starting point of value and cultural re-orientation in Nigeria.
He
also suggested the addition of civic education into school’s curriculum to
instill patriotism and orderliness in the country
After
due debate on the bill, it was passed for third reading through a unanimous
voice vote.
