The Management of Nigeria
Professional Football League leaders, Plateau United of Jos, is to improve on
its players' welfare package in order to put them at par with their colleagues
in other clubs.
According to a release today signed
by the General Manager of Plateau United, Pius Henwam, the decision was reached
during a brainstorming session involving the management, technical crew and
players at the club's house in Jos on Tuesday.
Henwan who praised the team for
returning to the top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table,
disclosed that efforts are being made to ensure that their welfares are well
taken care of.
The General Manager challenged the
team to exhibit more discipline, hard work and commitment towards the club
aspiration of picking a continental ticket at the end of the season.
He challenged the team to remain
focused by winning their last two matches of the first round so as to retain
their place at the top of the league table.
While appreciating Plateau State
governor, Simon Lalong, for creating the enabling environment for the team to
thrive this season, Henwan appealed to the players to avoid acts capable of
derailing their focus, and win a trophy as a sign of appreciation to the
governor and the people of Plateau State.
