Bureau of Pubic Enterprises to determine listing of Distribution companies on Nigerian Stock Market

    Association of Nigerian Electricity Distributors, ANED, says listing shares of Electricity Distribution Companies, DisCos on the Nigerian Stock Exchange will be determined by the Bureau of Pubic  Enterprises, BPE.

   According to Chief Executive Officer of ANED, Azu Obiaya, the listing of the DisCos shares at the stock market could only be possible at the expiration of the five-year agreement entered with the BPE.
   On the declaration that GenCos can sell power direct to some categories of customers, Obiaya said Minster of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, had the right to declare Customer Eligibility in the sector as stipulated by Power Sector Reform Act 2005.
   However, the DisCos are still monitoring the situations. Meanwhile, Ministries, Departments and Agencies debt, owing DisCos are yet to settle all outstanding debt.
