Delta State Government Set To Modernise Osubi Trade Fair Complex, Signs MoU




    The Delta State House of Assembly has passed a resolution calling on the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to direct relevant agencies in the state to liaise with their Edo State counterparts in finding lasting solution to the boundary dispute between Ugbodu community in Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state and Ohordua community in Edo State.

    The motion was moved under matters of public urgent importance by the Member representing Aniocha North, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi and seconded by member representing Patani Constituency, Hon. Timi Tonye.
    Hon. Nwaobi said the community had, in the past, experienced series of crisis following boundary disputes between Delta and Edo states, stressing that the National Assembly had passed resolutions addressing the issue.
He said the motion was to draw the attention of the state governor and all relevant agencies in order to avert escalation of the crisis and loss of lives.
    The motion was adopted by the House after a voice vote thrown to the floor by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya.
