Sports Stakeholders has agreed to
commence the National Sport Federations elections from May 5.
The stakeholders agreed on the
election date when the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, presented
the draft election guidelines to them at the one-day stakeholders meeting in
Abuja.
Dalung, however, said the nomination
forms would be released on April 25, while the deadline for submission of forms
was May 2.
Meanwhile, Zonal elections would
hold on May 9 and submission of names of representatives of other constituents
was slated for May 12.
Verification of all the names would
hold between May 16 and May 17.
According to the sport minister, elections
for the position of the president and vice president of various federations
would hold on June 9.
